VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WDBJ/Gray News) - A 2-year-old girl from Virginia was found safe after an Amber Alert was issued for her disappearance.

Virginia State Police said 2-year-old Zuri Dorsey was believed to be in extreme danger after being abducted from her home in Virginia Beach on Saturday.

Police identified the possible abductor as 27-year-old Deandre Dorsey.

The alert was expanded to North Carolina after police determined the girl and Dorsey were headed in that direction.

On Sunday, police say the toddler was found safe just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina and Deandre Dorsey was taken into custody.
