RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Skies will be partly cloudy today and it will be a bit breezy. Highs in the 30s will feel more like the 20s thanks to the wind.

A few snow showers arrive across northeast Wyoming and southwest South Dakota Thursday morning and could linger into the middle of the day before tapering off. Temperatures will be in the single digits and teens with wind chills dipping below zero.

Dangerously cold air will settle in Friday with highs ranging from the single digits above zero to below zero. A few snow showers will arrive Friday evening and be gone by Saturday morning.

The weekend will have lows in the minus teens for many, with some spots in the -20s. Highs will stay below zero for everyone. Wind chill values this weekend will range from the -10s to the -40s at times.

MLK day will be cold, too. Highs will be closer to 0° for many, but wind chill values remain below zero. It will be a very slow thaw out of these frigid temperatures with highs in the single digits on Tuesday and climbing into the teens after that.
