Pageant queen charged with murder of 18-month-old
DONALSONVILLE, Ga. (WTVY/Gray News) - A Georgia pageant queen has been charged with felony murder, aggravated battery and cruelty to children after the death of a young child.
Authorities arrested Trinity Madison Poague, 18, on Friday, according to Sumter County, Georgia, jail records.
“The investigation indicates an unresponsive 18-month-old boy was admitted to the emergency room at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus, Georgia,” the Georgia Bureau of Investigations said in a statement provided to WTVY.
The GBI says hospital staff tried to perform life-saving measures on the baby, but he died.
According to jail records, Poague has no bond.
“Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Southwestern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” the GBI statement said.
Poague was crowned Miss Donaldsonville last year and competed in the Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant.
