New Budweiser Clydesdale foal born, joining 70 other colts
BOONVILLE, Mo. (KFVS/Gray News) - Anheuser-Busch announced the birth of a new Budweiser Clydesdale foal at Warm Springs Ranch.
According to a release from the ranch, the male colt was recently born on the property where he joined more than 70 other Clydesdales.
Clydesdale foals stand about 3 feet tall, weigh around 150 pounds and can walk within hours of being born.
Once grown, they usually are about 18 hands, 6 feet, tall at their withers and weigh around 2,000 pounds.
Clydesdales must go through years of training before becoming eligible to join one of the three traveling teams or hitches.
“You never know what lies ahead for these gentle giants,” Amy Trout, herd supervisor at Warm Springs Ranch, said in the release. “The foals are so much fun to see up close, and you never know – he might just end up on a Budweiser commercial in the future.”
The ranch will host Football and Foals, a football watch party, on Sunday, February 11.
Warm Springs Ranch is a more than 300-acre breeding and training facility for the Budweiser Clydesdales in central Missouri.
