RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - We have a correction to this story that we posted to blackhillsfox.com on February 8.

In the story, we told you that a judge denied Faron Mesteth’s bond we told you that he was convicted of killing two people. He is actually charged with vehicular homicide.

Here is the corrected story

On Thursday, Judge Craig Pfeifle denied Faron Mesteth’s release on a cash bond. Mesteth, of Rapid City, is charged with vehicular homicide.

Mesteth was out on bond until he had a positive alcohol breath test on Jan. 20. Mesteth turned himself in, claiming he overslept after his lawyer asked him not to say anything.

Mesteth’s lawyer asked for a $2,500 cash bond release. The judge denied the bond release after the state said he was a “danger to the community.”
