Firefighters buy new bike for boy after his was totaled on his birthday
TEMPE, Ariz. (KPHO/Gray News) – A boy in Arizona had his birthday turned upside down when he was hit by a car while riding his bike.
Fortunately, he wasn’t seriously injured, and local firefighters helped save the day with a special gift.
According to Tempe firefighters, Wyatt was riding his bike in his neighborhood when he was hit by a car, all on his birthday.
Thankfully, he only had minor injuries, including a broken toe, but his bike was totaled.
But the Tempe fire crew from Engine 271 went above and beyond to make Wyatt’s day better.
After responding to the original call, firefighters went to Target to buy Wyatt a new bike.
Firefighters surprised Wyatt with his new bike and posted a photo to Facebook.
