Driver charged for alleged role in dramatic semi-truck rescue on river bridge

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) - A 33-year-old from Jeffersonville, Kentucky, is facing charges for his alleged role in the crash that led to a dramatic rescue of a semi-truck driver dangling from the Clark Memorial Bridge.

Trevor Branham was charged with four counts of wanton endangerment and operating on a suspended license.

Recently released documents detailed what led to the March 1 crash.

Witnesses told police they saw Branham’s pickup speeding on the bridge and weaving through traffic before he struck a stalled vehicle stopped in the right lane.

The documents said Branham lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic before he crashed into the semi-truck.

Two people in another vehicle were also injured, but there is no update to their condition or the status of the semi-truck driver.

Police said Branham’s license was suspended at the time of the crash.
