3-year-old boy found dead in watering hole for cattle, officials say
CLAY COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) - A boy who walked away from a home was later found dead in a small pond, according to officials in Alabama.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call for a missing child who walked off from a residence on Monday at around 5:50 p.m.
Deputies and other first responders conducted a search of the house and surrounding properties when they arrived on the scene.
After a brief search, the child was located dead in a small pond near the home, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Clay County coroner identified the child as 3-year-old Kyren Grey Andrews.
Kyren’s mother was reportedly attending to another child when she realized the 3-year-old was missing.
Officials said the pond is a watering hole for cattle.
Kyren’s family set up a GoFundMe to assist with funeral expenses.
