STURGIS, S.D. (KEVN) - A vacant seat on the Sturgis city council is now filled, but only for a month until the Sturgis municipal elections on April 9.

On Monday, Ward 4 representative Dean Sigman took the council vice president position. It’s been vacant since the council elected Angela Wilkerson to take on the role of mayor after the resignation of former mayor Mark Carstensen.

Sigman will serve as VP of the council until the end of the month when the new Sturgis City Council is installed after the election on April 9.
