RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - The assistant principal of Rapid City Central High School is suing the Rapid City Area School District and its school board, claiming the district violated her civil rights.

Jennifer Griffin claims the district violated her civil rights by having her boss, Mike Talley, groom her into having a sexual relationship.

The district issued a statement addressing the lawsuit and Griffin’s allegations of sexual harassment, claiming the district appropriately responded to Ms. Griffin’s formal complaint against Mr. Talley in compliance with Title Nine.

The district claims that all their employees are trained every year on sexual harassment and are required to report any instances.

The Rapid City Area School District claims they are committed to ensuring their employees are in a safe and welcoming environment.

The school district must now file a formal answer to the lawsuit.
