Mother of 4 found dead after she was reportedly kidnapped; boyfriend arrested
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) - A mother of four, who police say was kidnapped in the aftermath of a car crash, was found dead and her boyfriend has been charged in connection to her disappearance.
The body of 40-year-old Nakita Davidson was inside her own vehicle, a 2008 burgundy Saturn Outlook vehicle, in a wooded area Friday at about 3:18 p.m., according to authorities.
“It has been very heartfelt, it is sad,” said Sgt. LaQuitta Wade. “It is a very, very sad situation. It is a sad day and it bothers us deeply because Nakita had four children who will be without a mother.”
Police reported 37-year-old Cedric Dwayne Robertson, whom Davidson was reportedly dating, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Friday evening. According to the Associated Press, Robertson was found moving from an abandoned house to another abandoned house when he was detained.
The search for Davidson began when police responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash at about 2:11 a.m. Thursday. No one was at the scene when officers arrived, however, they did discover evidence of a possible assault/shooting.
Police believe Davidson was involved in the crash, injured and possibly kidnapped from the scene. According to the Associated Press, court documents report a witness claimed to have seen Robertson shoot a woman and put her into the trunk of her own car, presumed to be Davidson’s Outlook, before driving away.
Robertson has been charged with first-degree kidnapping and capital murder, authorities said.
