Storms Tonight, Rain and Wind Tomorrow
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) -
Thunderstorms are likely to continue until right after midnight with temperatures not dropping much. We are going to see the thunderstorms transition over to all rain by the time we get to the early morning hours. Winds are going to be the main issue for tomorrow, with a high wind watch in effect for Rapid City, Sturgis, and Wall. Wind gusts up to 60 mph are possible during the day tomorrow. Rain showers continue on and off throughout the daytime hours. Temperatures staying fairly cool throughout the day with highs likely in the mid 50s in Rapid City. Futurecast shows the on and off showers throughout the day tomorrow and by Wednesday, another round of moisture moves through, bringing snow showers to parts of NE Wyoming and the Black Hills. Overnight tonight, the severe thunderstorms last until around midnight then we transition over into rain showers by the morning, temperatures will stay fairly mild tonight, only getting into the 40s for much of the region. Tomorrow, rain is likely throughout the day, but the wind is the big story with sustained winds up to 40 miles per hour and gusts up to 60 mph. We will see the next three days in NE Wyoming and the Northern Hills cool off with the chance for showers, snow and rain on Wednesday. Then we start to dry out by the end of the week. Temperatures in the 40s and 30s are likely. Rapid City will see the 40s take over with the possibility of a few flurries lingering into the first part of the weekend on Friday and Saturday.
