Sunshine Sticks Around Through Midweek, Then Storms Enter the Forecast

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) -

Tonight, mostly clear skies settle into the area with temperatures near average with 30s reentering the forecast in Rapid City. Tomorrow will be the perfect day to head out onto the patio and enjoy the weather with temperatures getting into the 60s by the afternoon and evening and sunshine once again dominating the forecast. Its that time of year and pollen levels are high for tree pollen, but most of everything else has a low rating. Futurecast is showing that sunshine will be sticking around for the next couple of days with a few clouds possible each day. On Thursday, our next system begins to move into the area, starting out with clouds and eventually rain showers by the time we get to the afternoon. Overnight tonight we are going to be seeing temperatures drop into the 30s and 40s, the 40s are going to be mainly limited to the SD Plains and in some spots of the foothills. We are going to see mostly clear skies overnight and those will continue tomorrow with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures get into the 50s and 60s by the afternoon tomorrow, overall we are going to feel perfect for the day tomorrow. Mostly sunny skies last through the next couple of days in NE Wyoming and the Northern Hills with rain showers starting Thursday. Rapid City sees the warm air through Thursday and then showers and storms take over Thursday and Friday with showers continuing into the weekend. Temperatures rebound as we head into next week with warmer air looking likely.
