Windy and mild today

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - We will see lots of sunshine after morning clouds today. A low pressure system moving east across southern Canada will bring gusty winds today. A Wind Advisory is in effect for northwest South Dakota where winds could gust up to 55 miles per hour. Isolated showers this morning in northwest South Dakota will move east by noon.

The middle of the week will be dry and mostly sunny with near normal temperatures Tuesday, then a big warm-up Wednesday as high pressure builds in from the west.

A strong storm system will move from the Rockies into the plains by Thursday and Friday. Active thunderstorms will be possible Thursday, then windy, showery weather can be expected next weekend. Some parts of the area may see decent amounts of moisture from this sytem.
