Man died in storms after power outage caused oxygen machine to stop working

PLAIN DEALING, La. (KSLA/Gray News) – At least one person was killed in the severe storms that moved through Louisiana Sunday night into Monday morning.

Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington said a 69-year-old man died after his oxygen machine stopped working due to a power outage at his home.

Deputies said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man was in hospice care.

Authorities responded to a number of calls during the storm which caused damage across the area.
