Isolated Showers Through the End of the Work Week

Showers will gradually get on out of here and we will see clearing skies by the time we get to the morning. Those nicer conditions dont last too long as we are going to see temperatures make it back into the mid to upper 50s in town with a chance for some scattered showers in the afternoon again. Futurecast shows multiple rounds of moisture over the course of the next couple of days with clouds dominating much of the rest of the work week. Saturday we finally see sunshine return to the Black Hills. But lets take a look back at what we saw for the month of April. The highest temperature we saw was on the 13th where we hit 85 degrees. The lowest, on the 20th with 24 degrees. This was the 21st warmest April on record and the 8th wettest with over 4 inches of precipitation. We saw just under 3 inches of snow, but still didnt see as much as normal. Looking forward to May, average temperatures increase from the low 60s to the low 70s by the end of the month. We average about 3 and a half inches of rain over the month with sunset times increasing to around 8:30 by the end of the month. Overnight tonight we are going to see temperatures drop into the 30s in Western South Dakota and getting into the 20s in some parts of NE Wyoming. Rain showers, possibly mixed with some snow flakes are possible early, but clearing takes over by the latter portion of the night. Tomorrow, a few isolated showers are possible as we head into the afternoon with temperatures making it into the 50s and 60s across the area. NE Wyoming and the Northern Hills shows that we are going to see temperatures make a rebound by the time we get to the weekend with sunshine returning in full force by then. Rapid City also sees a warm up by the weekend with 60s and 70s likely Saturday and Sunday.
