SCOTT COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ/Gray News) - An infant at the center of an Amber Alert issued Monday has been found safe, according to officials.

Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse issued an Amber Alert on behalf of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office for a child abduction that occurred Monday at about 8 p.m.

Police said 10-month-old Cedar Samuel Griffith was believed to be in extreme danger and was last reported seen wearing only a diaper on Daniel Boone Road in Gate City, Virginia.

The child is believed to have been abducted by Ashley Jordan Griffith. Police said the two may have been traveling in a blue 2005 Lexus RX330 with a temporary Tennessee tag.

The alert was canceled Tuesday evening after the child was found safe, according to the Scott’s County Sheriff’s Office.
