Trial date set for man accused of murder

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - A man accused of a May 2023 murder had his trial date set in court Thursday.
22-year-old Duane Sierra is charged with alternative counts of first and second-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Serena Ann Spider after she was found lying in the grass with a gunshot wound to her upper torso.
Spider was found between LaCrosse Street and Brennan Avenue and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Sierra’s trial is set to start on May 16th. He faces life in prison if convicted.
