Sturgis Public Library hosts plant auction to raise funds for kids’ summer reading programs
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Sturgis Public Library begins its 16th annual Green Thumb Gala Monday, where they will host a silent auction of plants and decorated pots donated by community members. Funds will go towards the library’s summer reading programs for kids.
“We have the summer reading program, which keeps kids interested in reading,” Sturgis Public Library Director Christopher Hahn said. “It keeps them involved over the summer when they might not necessarily keep up on reading.”
More information on the Green Thumb Gala and summer reading programs can be found on the Sturgis Public Library website.
