Final day for the Walleye Outfitters Series Tournament coming up
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Getting into fishing can be an intimidating task for a variety of reasons, from getting equipment to learning proper techniques. One tournament in the Black Hills looks to take that stigma away encouraging all skill levels to sign up.
The Walleye Outfitters Series Tournament is already underway with two of the three locations already finished, but there is still time to sign up for the final day next month. The tournament works by keeping a scorecard of each team competing and the team with the lowest overall score wins.
The tournament is designed to be friendly to all skills of fishermen with the finalists from the last event being completely different skill levels.
“It also kind of gives guys a jumping off point that want to go to bigger tournaments, fish in bigger series it gives them a place to start without having the thousands, and thousands of dollars invested that it takes to get started on a huge national tour. This is smaller (more local) more affordable, it’s a real friendly environment,” Kevin Vaughn the Tournament Director for the Walleye Outfitters Series Tournament said.
The next event will be held at Shadehill on June 29 and June 30. Those looking to sign up can find a registration link here.
