RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Plenty of sunshine is expected to begin the weekend. Temperatures will be mild as many will reach the 60s and a few spots could top out in the lower 70s. Sunday will be warmer with highs in the 70s and low 80s. A cold front will pass through and fire off some showers and storms later in the afternoon hours Sunday.

The front will usher in some cooler air early next week. High temperatures will only reach the 50s with showers possible Monday and become more likely Monday night into Tuesday.

Highs will return to the 60s for the rest of next week with the chance of a few showers at times. As of now, Memorial Day weekend is favored to have below normal temperatures and above average moisture. We will keep a close eye on the forecast and see how it may impact your holiday weekend plans.
