Warmer Sunday, but afternoon storms are possible
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - High temperatures will climb into the 70s and possibly the 80s to close out the weekend. A few showers and storms will develop after the noon hour and quickly move through western South Dakota. Rapid City could have a few storms around 3 pm, give or take an hour or so. After 6 pm, the storms should be moving into central South Dakota.
Some storms may become strong to severe with the chance for hail and strong winds.
Temperatures will be much cooler early next week, where highs will only be in the 50s for many. Scattered showers are expected both Monday and Tuesday. Mild air returns Wednesday and into Thursday with high temperatures closer to average. A few storms will be possible on Thursday.
Friday and much of Memorial Day weekend is looking to be below average with highs in the 60s. Showers and a few storms will be possible as well. Stay tuned for further updates.
