QUINCY, MA. (WGGB/WSHM/Gray News) - Authorities announced a rape suspect from Massachusetts who had been on the run for nearly two decades is now in custody.

The U.S. Marshals Service said Tuen Kit Lee, who went by the name “Dickie,” was arrested on Tuesday in Danville, California.

Lee fled Massachusetts during his trial in 2007 after he was convicted of rape and kidnapping.

According to the Associated Press, officials kept the case alive in the media and Lee’s photo appeared several times on TV’s “America’s Most Wanted.”

Lee was dubbed the “Bad Breath Rapist” because that was how his victim was able to identify him.

Last year, a reward of up to $10,000 was offered for information leading to his capture.

Then earlier this year, Massachusetts State Police saw images on social media that appeared to be of Lee.

Police were able to connect those images to a female flower shop owner in Diablo, California, who was identified to be Lee’s companion for 15 years and did not know his real identity.
