RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - This morning will be mostly sunny. It does get windy into the middle of the day with gusts up to 45 mph possible at times. High temperatures will soar into the 70s and 80s across the region.

Some storms may become strong to severe with large hail and damaging winds as the primary threats. Not everyone will see severe weather. Now is a good time to download the KOTA Weather App to keep safe and informed.

Temperatures will cool off for the rest of the week as highs will fall into the 60s. Warmer air returns over the weekend with 70s likely, rising into the 80s by next week. Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible Friday, with another chance of storms on Sunday.
