RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Crazy Horse Memorial is home to more than just a massive sculpture carved into a mountain - it also includes a museum with a large collection of Native American historical items and artwork.

This summer, Crazy Horse visitors will have a chance to create artwork with guidance from Native American experts. This program, the Living Treasures Indian Arts Cultural Exchange, will run from this week through October.

“Living Treasures is just one of our cultural programs that we host here throughout the summer season,” said Travis Dewes, the museum’s interim director. “And essentially what it is, is a craft workshop for our visitors to come in and partake.”

Activities include beadwork, dollmaking, and painting. Other summer attractions at Crazy Horse include daily live music performances and Saturday’s annual Volksmarch.
