RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Food, medicine, and dinosaurs. The Wall Drug Store, a popular roadside attraction in the town of Wall is getting ready for tourist season.

The famous tourist destination was founded in 1931. It now features eateries, clothing outlets, and treats from fudge to donuts.

Wall Drug Store Chairman Rick Hustead says they have had a strong start to the tourist season with business up 15% this April compared to April 2023.

He added the momentum has carried into this month. He’s expecting approximately 20,000 customers per day this upcoming July and two million in total for the entire 2024 tourist season.

“We wanna provide excellent customer service. My dad always said, ‘50% of our business is repeat business.’ People have stopped at Wall Drug, enjoyed their stop and they’re coming back. And what they like most about Wall Drug is how well our staff treats our customers,” Chairman of Wall Drug Store Rick Hustead said.

Hustead says their most popular sections in the attraction are the T-Rex dinosaur and giant jackalope in the backyard.
