RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Master technicians at Black Hills Tire have some tips on how to stay safe and comfortable when the temperatures start to rise. The first step to prepare your car for the summer is to be aware of its needs. If your brake fluid needs to be flushed or if your AC is blowing hot, it might be time to get your car into the shop.

Eric Krebsbach, a master technician at Black Hills Tire, says it is especially important to check your vehicle before heading out on a road trip to save dollars, headaches, and possibly your life.

”Obviously, there are some safety issues, like, if your brakes or tires are worn out that could cause an accident. The other things are, like, if your fluids aren’t full or they are old, that could cause engine failures or other things like that, that get expensive,” said Krebsbach.

If you are capable of fixing your car yourself, go right ahead. Otherwise, professionals encourage bringing your vehicle in to be sure everything is working smoothly in order to enjoy the summer heat.
