RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - The Pennington County Commission had an election canvass Monday, reviewing every ballot in each district from last Tuesday’s Primary Election.

The Commission holds an election canvass every year to double-check the voting totals. Members of the Commission counted every ballot from each district, precinct, and primary and verified the results.

They reported the official numbers and approved the canvass. The District 3 County Commissioner says there could be a re-count in a few races.

” Bottom line is, this primary, there wasn’t a lot of stuff on the ballots. So, there wasn’t a lot of people voting this year. It was probably one of the worst that we had in Pennington County and through the state. I think it was 17 percent, that’s what they were saying,” says District 3 County Commissioner Deb Hadcock.

Hadcock says everyone’s vote and voice matter in every election.
