RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - The hailstorm on June 24th damaged countless homes in Summerset. some of the hail was the size of a tennis ball. The National Weather Service said the storm rolled through the area after hitting Keystone with 1.25-inch hail.

“ We’re getting a lot of calls for people who have broken windows and busted skylights, which is usually a big sign that your roof and siding could be damaged too.” CEO of Black Hills Exteriors Chad Enger said.

There are some things Homeowners should do even before calling their insurance companies.

“ I would say the first thing to do is to board up any windows that you have, if you need help doing that you can call a local contractor that can come out and help you. Then we’re going to want to get your house inspected by a contractor before you put in a claim. There’s no reason to put the claim in unless you absolutely need it” Enger said.

Black Hills Exteriors is already out working to fix the damage from the storm.

“ We’re already out helping as many people as possible, we know that this is devastating and we want to help people.” Enger said.
