Mostly sunny and warm today; stormy on Thursday.
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Today will be quieter than Tuesday. Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with just a few isolated storms in southwest South Dakota this afternoon.
Those storms will spread northeast across much of western South Dakota tonight, but the severe weather threat will be lower than it was yesterday.
Thursday will be a hot and stormy day. Highs will be in the 90s ahead of a cold front that will spark strong to severe storms in parts of KOTA Territory in the afternoon. Large hail and damaging winds will be likely with any storm that forms on Thursday. Not everyone will see severe weather, but it will be a threat.
Friday will be breezy and cooler with perhaps a lingering shower or storm around the Black Hills.
Saturday will be a beautiful day with mild temperatures and dry conditions. But Sunday will be hot again with 90s and a chance of storms returning.
