RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - The 19th annual ‘Guns n Hoses’ blood drive competition concluded Friday at Rapid City’s Uptown Rapid Mall.

Organized by Vitalant, drive participants choose ‘Team Law’ or ‘Team Fire,’ pitting the Rapid City Police Department against the Rapid City Fire Department in a competition to secure the most blood donors.

After a week of close competition, Team Fire narrowly defeated Team Law with a score of 260-250. 499 units of blood were collected in total, exceeding Vitalant’s goal for the event by 35 units.
