Rep. Adam Schiff calls on President Biden to “pass the torch”
According to a poll from AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, Two thirds of democrats polled want Biden out of the race.
WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - Congressman Adam Schiff, the current front runner in the California Senate race is calling on President Joe Biden to make way for someone else.
In a statement he said: “While the choice to withdraw from the campaign is President Biden’s alone, I believe it is time for him to pass the torch. And in doing so, secure his legacy of leadership by allowing us to defeat Donald Trump in the upcoming election.”
Schiff is the latest in a growing chorus.
He’s now one of 20 members of congress with the same plea.
They’re not alone -
According to a poll from AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, Two thirds of democrats polled want Biden out of the race.
Schiff says he has serious concerns about Biden’s ability to beat Donald Trump, but conceded he will support him if he is the party’s nominee.
Biden insists he has no intention of dropping out.
