ATHENS, Ga. (WANF/Gray News) - A courthouse closed because of a bed bug infestation.

The Athens-Clarks County Courthouse in Athens, Georgia, opens on Monday after being closed for a week.

Superior Court Judge Lisa Lott issued a judicial emergency order to close the courthouse on July 22, which also canceled jury trials and hearings and suspended many judicial activities.

Officials said the bed bugs were only found in different areas on three levels of the courthouse.

The source of the bed bugs is not known.
