Toddler dies after being hit by vehicle at gas station, police say
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG/Gray News) - A toddler in Ohio was killed after being hit by a vehicle at a gas station Sunday night.
According to Clyde Police Chief Monti Campbell, the child was leaving the Clark station on North Main Street with their parent just before 7 p.m. when they were hit.
Officers on the scene performed life-saving measures, but the child sadly died.
The names of the victim and driver of the vehicle have not been released by officials, but a GoFundMe established for the child by the parent’s sister names the victim as Elijah.
The accident is under investigation with assistance from the Ohio State Patrol.
The GoFundMe funds are expected to pay for Elijah’s funeral expenses.
It has currently raised more than $2,600 of its $5,000 goal.
