(Gray News) - Regions Bank said that a glitch that was causing its customers’ debit cards to be declined has been resolved.

“All impacted services have now been restored, and transactions are processing as normal,” said Ashley Foster, a Regions Bank media relations senior business partner. “We apologize for any customer inconvenience – and we appreciate the diligence of our technology teams in providing a quick resolution.”

A spike of trouble reports about Regions began Monday morning, according to Downdetector.

Regions said in a statement that the cause was a system issue that lasted “less than a few hours.”

“To be clear, this was not a cyber incident. People’s funds and information are safe,” Foster said.

Regions Bank serves customers across the South, Midwest and Texas.
