1-year-old hit and killed by forklift

NAPPANEE, Ind. (WPTA/Gray News) – A 1-year-old was hit and killed by a forklift in Indiana Wednesday afternoon, according to officials with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said a preliminary investigation found the toddler was behind a forklift when the man operating the machinery went into reverse.
They said the man didn’t know the child was behind the vehicle and hit the 1-year-old.
First responders tried life-saving measures, but the toddler was pronounced dead at the scene.
