HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) - A man is accused of trying to hire someone to murder his wife and children.

Mohammad A.H. Mohammed, 63, is charged with the use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire.

According to court records, Mohammed contacted someone, asking them repeatedly to find someone to “take care of” his wife and six adult children.

The person informed law enforcement. An undercover FBI agent then posed as a hitman.

Mohammed allegedly offered to pay the undercover agent $20,000 for the murder of his wife, and an additional $5,000 each for his six children.

According to court records, Mohammed also showed the hitman images of cars belonging to his family that he had set on fire.

Mohammed was taken into federal custody on Monday.
