WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - For the first time since taking office more than 3 and a half years ago, President Biden appeared in the White House Press Briefing Room – touting some positive economic news and taking some questions from some surprised reporters.

“Hi! My name is Joe Biden!”

The latest jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics far outperformed expectations on Wall Street – showing the U.S. added 254,000 jobs in September and the nation’s unemployment rate dropped to 4.1 percent. That led to Friday’s victory lap by the President – who called it “incredible news”.

“And from the very beginning, we were told time and again that the policies we were pursuing we put forward weren’t going to work, make things worse, including some of the other team are still saying they’re going to make things worse, but we’ve proven them wrong.”

The President also directly responded to an unfounded claim by Florida Senator Marco Rubio that the latest jobs numbers were fake.

“Look, I’m going to be very careful here. If you notice anything MAGA Republicans don’t like they call fake. anything. The job numbers are what the job numbers are. They’re real.”

President Biden also said he was pleased by the resolution of a strike at ports on the East and Gulf coasts – that threatened to become a major crisis for the country. Separately the President said he expects a free and fair election – but couldn’t guarantee that it would be peaceful.
