Woman arrested for shooting husband while vacationing at beach, authorities say

PENSACOLA, Fla. (KWCH/Gray News) - A Kansas woman has been arrested in Florida where she’s accused of shooting her husband.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, 31-year-old Jacqueline King was taken into police custody Tuesday night at a hotel in Pensacola Beach in connection with the shooting.

Escambia County deputies said they responded to a call that night at a Fairfield Inn hotel.

They arrived and found King’s husband suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The sheriff’s office is calling the shooting a domestic-related incident.

The couple was on vacation when the shooting happened, the sheriff’s office said.

King was booked into the Escambia County Jail for attempted homicide.

The sheriff’s office is investigating what led up to the shooting.
