Julia Lopez joined FOX 12 as a multimedia journalist in January 2024. She’s excited to explore the Pacific Northwest and tell local stories.
Julia grew up in Virginia Beach, spending her time by the ocean. She studied Journalism and Spanish at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and studied abroad in Valladolid, Spain.
While in college she reported for her student newspaper, The Spectator, and worked as lead reporter at the local publication, The Chippewa Valley Post. She began her career in journalism as Weekend Anchor at WQOW News 18 in Eau Claire.
When she isn't reporting, she enjoys exploring Oregon and spending time in nature, reading, doing yoga, cooking, and playing with her cat, Maisey.
A plane crashed into a home in Oregon, leaving three people dead, several families displaced, and thousands of people in the area without power.
